poetry: a literary art employing aesthetic
qualities of language to evoke meanings.
take that versus my own take:
poems are what you make.
poetry is who you are.
academic do-well verses are
a steak with no spice, no sizzle,
a shell of unsexy smiling,
sterile, soulless, boring, stupid:
they give zero
comfort or pleasure.
i’m neither dumb or dense.
i’m a man, not a theory.
i mean, really:
i should quit complicating.
the lesson of icarus isn’t hubris.
it’s build better wings.
the lesson of moby dick isn’t wrath kills.
it’s don’t fuck with the white whale.
the lesson of my language:
resist the classical mess:
have no way as way.
